Rich McDowell

Camera Obscura

Rich McDowell grew up in Bristol, and spent his childhood reading every piece of crime fiction he could lay his hands on. After studying philosophy at Cambridge, Rich became a freelance writer, developmental editor and text localiser, a lifestyle which has taken him to over 50 countries. While on the road, he writes classic British whodunnits with a modern twist to remind him of home.

CAMERA OBSCURA
Rob and Andrew’s crime writing partnership is shattered when Andrew’s girlfriend disappears kayaking the hidden waterways beneath Bristol. As Andrew withdraws from the world, Rob must salvage his friend’s latest novel – an unpublishable tale of a serial killer and fantastical technology in Victorian Bristol – while working out if Andrew is writing as therapy, confession or revenge.
