Vintage Thrillers Film Weekend, Chester

A residential weekend course organised by the Cosmopolitan Film Club (non-profit) is running at Chester University campus on Vintage Thrillers (1950 – 1961) this August.

There are seven thrillers being shown commencing on Friday evening and ending on Sunday afternoon.The total cost of the course is £177.88 which includes two night’s accommodation, refreshments and all meals.

There are seven thrillers being shown, which are Guilt Is My Shadow (1950), Bang! You’re Dead (1953), The Brain Machine (1955), The Flying Scot (1957), Offbeat (1961), Try and Get Me! (1950) and Wages of Fear (1953). The tutor is David Redfern.

The course consists of film viewing and syndicate discussion. There is also a prize draw for which the prizes are some crime fiction and film/ television crime related books.

Cheques should be made payable to The Cosmopolitan Film Club to be received no later than Friday, June 23, 2017. (The reason for this is that Chester University will not take individual cheques.) Cheques should be mailed to Everett Aaker, Chairman, Cosmopolitan Film Club, 2, Palmerston Close, Chester, CH1 5DA. Everett is an active member of the CWA; please could you email him on cosmopolitan10@btinternet.com if you are interested in attending as soon as possible.

Please note: if you are subsequently unable to attend after payment, the Club is not in a position to offer refunds so it would be wise to obtain your own insurance.
