Tom Kessler has spent sixteen years putting dangerous men behind bars. Pete Johnson has spent just as long staying one step ahead of them.

Their alliance was never meant to last.

It works — until a powerful MP assaults Pete’s wife and walks away without consequence.

Reporting it would expose Pete. Ignoring it would destroy Tom.

So they do the unthinkable. They take him on themselves.

What begins as a targeted operation to bring down a predator quickly spirals beyond their control. The line between justice and revenge disappears. And the consequences reach further than either of them anticipated.

Because they’re no longer dealing with one man’s crimes.

They’ve stepped into a world where power protects itself and surveillance cuts both ways. Where a disgraced MP is the least of their problems — because Russian intelligence has been watching the same target for entirely different reasons.

Once those forces move, there are no rules. And there are no witnesses.

A Minister’s Downfall is a razor-sharp British crime thriller about two men pushed past the limits of the law — and into the reach of something much bigger.

Perfect for readers of Stephen Leather, Mick Herron, Daniel Silva and Mark Greaney.
