Murder at the Bakery
Two missing women, thousands of missing pies and Mike Moore, the world’s crankiest boss.
Georgia’s dream job of trainee PI is becoming a nightmare. Mike is facing bankruptcy, and Georgia’s zero-hours contract won’t pay the mortgage. Unless she can whip up some business for them both, she’ll be further up the creek and with fewer paddles than usual.
Luckily, thousands of meat pies are missing from a local factory. Georgia persuades Mike to take the case and goes undercover at Wright Good Pies, filling the job of one of the missing-presumed-dead women. When another woman disappears from the factory, and a sexy pie-seller is looking distinctly dodgy, Mike orders Georgia to drop the case – it’s too hot to handle.
But she can’t resist a spot of last-minute sleuthing that puts her firmly in the murderer’s sights. Will Mike finally come good, or are Georgia’s mortgage worries about to end… forever?
If Stephanie Plum moved to West Yorkshire she’d find herself working for Mike Moore.
