Deep in the Scottish Highlands, old wounds are about to be ripped wide open.
Private Investigator Ian Skair is used to a quieter life these days, but his past is about to catch up with him. When an old police inspector friend asks him for a life-changing favour, Ian can’t say no. The job? Take on Cal Cameron—an ex-colleague who has just been released after being falsely imprisoned for corruption.
For Ian, Cal’s case strikes dangerously close to home. The corruption ring that framed Cal is the same operation responsible for the gunshot injury that ended Ian’s own police career.
Cal is free, but he isn’t safe. He possesses explosive information that could fully clear his name—and someone is desperate to keep him quiet. When sinister threats target Cal’s family, Ian realizes they are dealing with an enemy who will stop at nothing to bury the truth forever.
