When Lyle Revel and Hermione Bradbury are not carrying out their duties as caretakers of Milsham Castle, they are usually involved in all sorts of revelry and mayhem.

Their friend Oliver Seymour is making a documentary about the notorious Captain Dietrich. After discovering the wanted Nazi fugitive is still alive, Oliver is involved in a mysterious car crash before he can expose him.

Lyle’s and Hermione’s suspicions are aroused further when a document goes missing from Arlington, one of England’s finest stately homes, and a guest is shot dead.
