They Know completely pulled me into its dark, gritty world from the start. This is not a soft angel story or a simple crime thriller. It blends both in a bold, fearless way. The writing feels sharp and experienced, almost like you can sense the real investigative background behind it, but layered with supernatural intensity.

The crime unit at the heart of the story is what makes it so gripping. Ex-cons, ex-army, police, intelligence, and survivors all working together, unknowingly guided by unseen Fallen entities who are anything but ordinary angels. They deliver justice in ways that are raw and unapologetic. It gave me the same edgy, supernatural crime vibe as Fringe and Torchwood, where the lines between right and wrong constantly blur.

There is also romance, and yes, it sizzles. The chemistry feels natural and intense without taking away from the main plot. The characters are flawed, morally complex, and very real. I genuinely felt like I wanted to step inside their world and be part of this fierce, rule breaking team.

What stayed with me most is the attitude of this book. It is raw, edgy, and unapologetic about the kind of justice it serves. S C Cunningham has a signature style that is bold and cinematic. I can easily imagine this turning into a gripping screen series one day.5⭐
