Who Killed Emerald Isacson?
Carole’s new Third Ager chums don’t know she’s a former intelligence officer, but they know a good murder mystery when they see one.
Retired MI5 intelligence officers Carole Murray and Dave Lloyd are delighted to have quit London and moved to Buckinghamshire’s scenic Misbourne Valley. Before long, however, the quiet rural life is proving to be just a little too quiet.
When Carole joins the University of the 3rd Age’s local history group and learns of the historic, unsolved murder of a local scientist, she is intrigued and enlists the help of her fellow Third Agers in researching the case.
Soon after Carole visits the victim’s surviving sister, however, that lady too is murdered, and a sinister, decades-long conspiracy is gradually uncovered. When Carole and Dave suddenly find themselves in danger, they wonder if they should call on their former Firm for help. Should they leave the sleuthing to local CID head DI Bernard Hogget, or should they set a trap for the killer?
