Cailey Barker

Cailey writes about everything from self-help with soul to crime and fantasy fiction – usually about ordinary people finding glimmers of light in dark corners.

His debut crime novel, Steel: The Missing Light, a gritty London thriller, comes out in November 2026. He has published a self-help book, The Whisper: A Life Guide for Perfectly Imperfect People, and a fantasy novel, The Life Sower: Seven Days to Save Humanity. Cailey has been shortlisted for the CWA’s Short Mystery Competition and two of his novel openers were selected by Lee Child and Val McDermid for the book CrimeBits, published by Black Spring Press.

Aside from writing, Cailey is an investor, geologist, life coach and veteran martial artist with more black belts than healthy joints. He lives in London but spends too much time immersing himself in all things Japan.

‘A thrilling new voice in crime fiction. Cailey Barker is the real deal.’ Sunday Times bestselling author Caroline Green
