The story behind Pandora’s Secret grew from an idea I wanted to explore: how far someone will go to do good.

My late father worked in MI6*, and I spent much of my childhood surrounded by people doing similar work for other countries. The human cost behind such work- the service, sacrifice, personal consequences, and costs of living inside a lie built for the greater good- was almost incomprehensible when I was younger and fascinating now. Pandora’s Secret explores these ideas, but as a political thriller. Anderson’s signature move with the rolled magazine, spoilers!, is something my dad taught me.

When I’m not writing or directing, I’m usually thinking about cake.
