Roy Burgess

Roy Burgess was once an IT manager. This involved sitting in a cubicle and making stuff up. Having retired from this high octane lifestyle, he now sits in his home office and makes stuff up.

Roy has published five books so far.

The Price We Pay is book 1 in the DI Carrie Tyler series. A police procedural set in the fictional West Yorkshire city of Arthwaite. It has been described by readers as ‘Fast paced, action packed, and extremely hard to put down.‘ Book 2 in the series, Fair Play, is due in the spring of 2026.

The Fifth Series centres on Frankie Dale. His a writer. His real life starts to imitate the stories he writes. They’ve been described as funny, charming, irreverent and relatable.

West Yorkshire born and bred, Roy spends a lot of time staring out of the window at the Leeds-Liverpool canal. Music is a constant companion to his writing. A lover of books, music, and wine (often all three at once).
