Jo Cunningham
Jo Cunningham grew up in Birkenhead and at age eight, as part of a school team, she became Wirral Road Safety Quiz champion after an exciting buzzer round about box junctions. Having peaked, she left the North and worked for many years in various IT jobs to pay the bills while she got to grips with writing novels. Now back up North, she always looks left and right when she crosses the road.
In August 2024, Death by Numbers, the first in her murder mystery series featuring actuary turned amateur detective, Una McMurray, was published. And in August 2025, the second in the series, A Calculated Murder will follow.
In addition to writing cosy crime, she can usually be found doing crosswords, watching detective series, or learning a new skill that she’ll never use again – making her own shoes, stage fighting or basic bookbinding – don’t rely on her in a survival situation.
