Suzan Denoncourt
It was at the height of her career as a business executive that Suzan made the bold decision to pivot away from the corporate world into the literary universe, and she hasn’t looked back since.
Her debut novel, The Burden of Truth (2024), made the shortlist for Best Crime First Novel at the Crime Writers of Canada 2025 Awards of Excellence. Its early response was so favourable, she released book 2, Heaven’s Debris (2024), just four months later to equally positive reviews.
With a focus on page-turning suspense, her nuanced approach to domestic violence features Detective Max Cisco as a common thread throughout a series that is neither cozy mystery nor police procedural. The way in which his cases intersect with each main plot generates steady intrigue with unexpected twists that get wrapped up in satisfying conclusions.
Currently working on book 3, this Montreal-based, married mother of two is planning its release for late 2025 with more novels to follow. The Cisco series is available in paperback and ebook.
