Andrew Greig

Andrew James Greig is a Scottish crime writer. His debut, Whirligig (now The Bone Clock) was shortlisted for the McIlvanney Prize and longlisted for the CWA New Blood Dagger Awards in 2020. Since then he has had another eight novels published with The Girl in the Loch also selected for the McIlvanney prize in 2024. His other books outwith the crime genre are: A Song of Winter which deals with climate change; One is One blends magical realism within a contemporary mystery and 100 Favourite Ceilidh Dances an instructional guide to folk dance.

He lives in central Scotland where he still finds time to play music when he’s not writing or travelling. Before becoming a writer, Andrew was a design engineer in the aerospace industry. He managed to balance another career providing the live sound for acts as diverse as Ravi Shankar to The Fall.
