Peter Hallinan
Peter was born in Buxton, Derbyshire, and has worked as both a lawyer and film archivist. Working for the Imperial War Museum Film Archive, he was involved in creating catalogue entries for old factual reels where no written information existed. He was inspired to write by the idea of creating fiction inspired by real events.
The Charlie Fisher Mystery Series involves Charlie, who works in PR and is a mother of two young children, looking into family mysteries and getting in over her head with dangerous consequences. She has a relentless and sometimes impetuous drive to find things out and has been described as a charming if imperfect hero.
The books are dual-timeline historical mysteries set in the present but with the mystery to be solved set in the past, initially immediately post-Second World War with links to espionage.
The first in the series, Four Minutes From Landing, sees Charlie, currently on maternity leave, leave her children with her long-suffering sister to rush to South America to seek answers surrounding the death of her grandfather many years, before ending up being exposed to both an Establishment cover-up and a ruthless thief, which puts her life in danger.
A second book in the series, The Imaginary Friend, is due in 2025.
Peter’s interests include film and classic cars. He also runs a website dedicated to early cinema exhibition, which is dedicated to his great-grandfather Tommy Thompson who was a pioneer,
With his wife, Janne, he divides his life between Suffolk, London and France.
