Lorrie Holmgren
Lorrie Holmgren is the author of three Emily Swift Travel Mysteries: Murder on Madeline Island, Homicide in Hawaii and A Killing in the Cotswolds.
Like her fictional sleuth, Lorrie loves to travel and learn about the history, art and culture of other lands. For many years, she was the director of communications of the Minnesota Medical Association. Lorrie lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband, close to her adult children and grandson. In addition to travel, she enjoys Latin dance, Zumba, aqua aerobics, gardening, knitting, book group discussions and playing 221 Baker Street with her grandson.
Her mysteries, which feature Emily Swift, a travel writer who is drawn into murder investigations, are set in places that are especially dear to Lorrie. Murder on Madeline Island takes place on an island in Lake Superior, which she often visits with her writing group. Homicide in Hawaii was inspired by the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. A Killing in the Cotswolds followed a delightful trip to England.
