Ian Hough
Ian Hough is a noir author from Salford, UK, now living in Connecticut, USA. His novel, Barbary Coast, plunges readers into the polluted waters and gritty criminal underworld of Salford docks in 1968. Blending meticulous realism with a sharp streak of dark northern humour, he captures the tension, uncertainty, and complex characters navigating Manchester’s gangland of the 1960s, and Salford’s civic ruin. When not uncovering the secrets of the British underworld, he can be found reading, writing, or tending to his many other addictions. Ian is also the author of Perry Boys and Perry Boys Abroad, two best-selling accounts of Manchester United’s hooligans and the associated underground culture. In 2013, he self-published Flake, a noir tale of bikers and La Cosa Nostra at war in the winter wilds of western Massachuetts. He is too ashamed to reveal his social media accounts, as they comprise an unending stream of obscenity and uncensored pontificating.
