Jody Sabral is a broadcast journalist who lived in Istanbul, Turkey, for ten years until 2012, working as a correspondent and film maker for various international broadcasters. Jody self-published her first book Changing Borders in 2012 and enrolled on the MA in creative writing at City University, London, where she wrote her second book The Movement securing the Crime Writers Association Debut Dagger in 2014.

Jody’s broadcast experience to date includes contributions to the BBC, France 24, CBC Canada, Iran’s English language news channel Press TV, Aljazeera and award-winning Metropolis TV, an arm of VPRO the Netherlands. Jody writes for the Huffington Post, Al-Monitor and Brics Post on Turkey and has guest lectured at universities including SOAS and Huddersfield on Turkish democracy.

These days Jody divides her time between St Leonards-on-Sea and London, where she works as an editor on the foreign desk and video producer at the BBC.

Jody is represented by Ivan Mulcahy (literary) and Marc Simonson (dramatic rights) @ MMB Creative. Her next novel, I NEVER LIE, a psychological suspense novel set in East London is due to be published by Canelo on June 11th, 2018. Canelo have acquired her follow up DON’T BLAME ME to be published early 2019. She also dabbles in screenwriting.
