HARDWAYS
Homicide detective Gwen Drake returns from sixty-days of Las Vegas craps and bottom feeding to investigate the murder of a black man found headless on top of a laurel hedge in a moneyed Seattle neighborhood. Her prime suspect is a cop-hating judge, who is, like the victim, one of Drake’s high school classmates.
