Robert Richardson Funeral Arrangements
Following on from the very sad news of the passing of crime writer and former CWA Chair Robert Richardson, the family have asked us to share the following information about funeral arrangements on Wednesday 22 September. All are welcome.
Dear friends and family,
We are sad to announce that Robert Richardson, much loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, died peacefully in the early hours of 31st August, following a short illness.
Robert’s funeral service will take place in Sheffield at 12.30pm on Wednesday 22nd September, followed by a reception in nearby Dore, the village where he and Sheila lived for several years following their retirement. Details of both venues are provided below.
It will be a long journey for many of you, and we know that those who aren’t able to make it will be there in spirit. If you would like to attend please contact firstname.lastname@example.org who will give you contact details for Robert’s son James Richardson.
We ask for no flowers at the funeral. However, you may wish to make a donation to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, whose lifesaving work Robert supported for many years. You can do this by clicking here to access the Just Giving page we have set up in his memory.
Thanks to all of Robert’s old friends and colleagues who have already provided so many kind words and stories of his life.

The venues for the service and reception are only ten minutes’ drive apart. If you need transport between the venues, or from a train station, please let us know. The nearest train station for both the service and reception is Dore & Totley, although both are also easily reached from the main station in Sheffield.
