The Mourning Light

Jerry Krause

About The Mourning Light

It’s 1920. Marlena Von Jaeger, an inexperienced federal agent, investigates the death of a German lighthouse keeper on a remote and wintry Lake Superior island populated with Scandinavians still seething with World War I’s anti-German fervor. Marlena pursues a long-ago shipwreck and a missing child, convinced both are connected to the murder. Suddenly, Marlena’s job is in jeopardy unless she immediately solves the case. Can she do it?

Woven into the fabric of his writing are his experiences as a former Army intelligence analyst, police officer, commercial real-estate lawyer, and university professor of criminal justice. Jerry enjoys technical climbing and with his spouse, Ellen Abbott, can often be found serving as a volunteer national park ranger.
