After stealing a great deal of money from the Cartel and kidnapping his two daughters from their foster home, the pursuit of former baseball player and wayward dad, Wade Chesterfield, by the police, an ex-detective and a violent bounty hunter, all makes for a cross-country road-trip from hell. Narrated by a trio of alternating voices this stand-out North Carolina-set literary thriller is underpinned by excellent character development, great story telling and a strong sense of place.
