Roger Silverwood
Roger is a Yorkshireman. He was born and lives in Barnsley. He went to boarding-school in Gloucestershire where he founded a school magazine which grew from strength to strength until the headmaster banned it. Then he was conscripted into the army for National Service where he spent most of the time in Germany. He came out of the army and got a job selling toys and soon became sales director and sold more than a million Sooty xylophones. Subsequently, he went into business with his wife and they sold antique jewellery throughout the North of England. However, in 1969 he had an accident and was unable to walk for 18 months, and so he began to write in bed. As he improved in health he took a job as a copywriter in an advertising agency whilst still feverishly writing in the evenings and weekends. His first book was published in 1971.
Roger has written 34 full length hardback novels and 3 plays. He writes books mostly about his well known policeman, Inspector Angel. This well loved character has appeared in 29 of his books and is sold in every English speaking country in the world. All his titles are also available on line and in paperback. The latest Angel book is ANGEL’S FINAL PROBLEM released October 2021 and he is writing another Angel story due out next year.
