Jake Lynch
Jake Lynch is the author of Blood on the Stone, an historical mystery thriller set in Oxford in 1681, published by Unbound Books. He is also a Leverhulme Visiting Professor at the Centre for Trust Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University, and the world’s leading authority on Peace Journalism. He holds a continuing appointment in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia.
Before taking up an academic post, Jake enjoyed a near-20-year career in professional journalism, including spells as a Political Correspondent for Sky News, the Sydney Correspondent for the Independent, and a presenter (newsreader) for BBC World TV. Jake is an accomplished and in-demand public speaker, presenter and moderator, in any and all formats of debate.
He divides his time between Sydney and Oxford, where he lives with his partner, the psychotherapist, Dr Annabel McGoldrick and teenage son; acts in local amateur dramatics, and runs a book group.
Other Awards
For his contributions to Peace Journalism research, teaching and practice, Jake was honoured with the 2017 Luxembourg Peace Prize, awarded by the Schengen Peace Foundation.
