Jacquie Rogers Reads at Colwall Arts Festival
Artists of all stripes, including writers, will be exhibiting and performing at the inaugural Colwall Arts Festival in Herefordshire, on the weekend of 7/8 August (11am-5pm).
CWA member Jacquie Rogers will be selling her books and will give several readings, between live music performances, at 2.00pm and 3.40 pm, 20 minutes each slot, on Saturday 7th.
I’ll be reading from my recently published Roman mystery, The Governor’s Man, which is set in third century Britain. It features military investigator Quintus Valerius, sent from Rome, and his British assistant, Tiro. Their mission is to uncover suspected crimes of fraud and resurgent Druidism involving stolen silver from the Emperor’s mines in Somerset. But as the pair are drawn into several murders, Quintus uncovers shocking secrets from his own past.
Other authors and poets will also be giving readings on both the Saturday and the Sunday.
Included in the line-up will be stalls featuring the visual arts (paintings, photography, pots and ceramics, jewellery, feltwork, multi-media art, handmade clothing).
The festival will take place at St James the Great Church in Mill Lane, Colwall, Herefordshire (at the foot of the Malvern Hills).
Tea and cake available! Free admission.
