Jacqueline Harrett
Jacqueline Harrett is a multi-genre author whose debut crime novel, The Nesting Place, was published by Diamond Books UK in November 2021. The story is a police procedural started during lockdown and meant to be a psychological thriller. However, when DI Mandy Wilde, the detective, made her appearance she had other ideas and the story took a different direction.
As a former teacher and lecturer, Jacqueline has published an award winning book for teachers, Exciting Writing, a set of stories for children and shorter fiction. She also co-authors women’s fiction with her writing partner, Janet Laugharne. Their debut, What Lies Between Them, was published in 2022 by Dixi Books UK.
Jacqueline is from Northern Ireland but has lived in Wales for over 40 years. The Nesting Place is set in the capital, Cardiff, and surrounding areas of South Wales. She regards writing as a form of therapy. Like reading, it’s an escape from the real world. Whether escaping into a world of crime is a good idea is another question.
