A lively TV cosmetic ‘influencer’ while doing a special makeup talks her viewers through the disappearance of Maisie Carter twenty years ago. Maisie’s body has just been discovered by her brother. As the influencer demonstrates her flair for cosmetics, she describes the suspects and reaches a convincing conclusion as to which is the murderer.

The judges felt this was a highly original short story concept brilliantly fulfilled, leaving the reader as satisfied as if they had been watching a TV screen.
