The Test
Harry Navinski
Works of: Fiction
A 1920s Sherlock Holmes-style murder investigation leads to dramatic and shocking exposure of Scotland Yard’s incompetent and corrupt police.
A dying man wants his estate to be won by merit, not gained by undeserved inheritance. He writes a Sherlock Holmes-style crime story as a test to be taken by descendants as they turn eighteen.
In the test, consulting detective, Silvester Locke-Croft, is called in to investigate the murder of a solicitor in 1920s London, uncovering hidden evidence, and revealing the incompetence of Scotland Yard’s detectives. His investigation concludes with dramatic exposure of the murderer, revealing corruption and collusion along the way.
The Test precedes the revelation in The Glass, of DCI Suzanna McLeod’s inheritance and career choice, followed up in The Duty – the second in this 21st Century police mystery series.
