The Duty
Harry Navinski
Works of: Fiction
A near-naked young woman’s body is found on Queensferry’s riverbank. But who is she and who dumped her in the water?
A colleague is knifed but the suspect is elusive.
Edinburgh’s top detective, DCI Suzanna McLeod, has a murder and a stabbing to investigate, taking her from the River Forth to the Ganges. Illegal immigration, slavery and brutality surface as she tracks down the culprits and handles her nit-picking boss, calling on all her mental and physical talents.
Suzanna is taken on a journey into her past, meeting old friends and colleagues, and recalling the Test she took to win her inheritance which set her on the detective path. On the journey, her focus is challenged by a complex love life that makes her feel like a teenager again.
The Duty is second in the DCI Suzanna McLeod crime-fighting series. If you like fast-moving complex investigations, battles with criminals, and engaging characters you’ll love Harry Navinski’s latest crime novel.
Some reviews (4.5 out of 5):
5-star – It drew me in from the beginning and didn’t let go until the end and left me wanting more. A definite must read.
4-star – For me, it was a very interesting, informative and yet suspense filled read, an eye opener to another world really, which left me desperate at the end of the book for the next one in the series.
