Catherine Aird
Catherine Aird is the author of some twenty-six detective novels and volumes of short stories, many of which have appeared in translation and one made into a film. She as also edited several biographies, produced a number of local histories, and written a son-et-lumiere, a video., etc, etch.
Born in 1930 and educated in Huddersfield in the West Riding of Yorkshire, she has lived since the war in a village in East Kent, where for many years she took an active interest in local affairs as well as acting as a dispenser and receptionist in her father’s general practice.
She was made an M.B.E. for services to the Guide Movement and awarded an Honorary M.A. by the University of Kent at Canterbury. She is currently working on another detective story featuring Inspector C.D.Sloan, while a third collection of short stories is in the course of publication.
