Ann Cleeves is the creator of the Shetland mysteries and the Vera Stanhope novels and a recipient of the Crime Writers’ Association Diamond Dagger. Her latest books are Wildfire, the eighth and final book in the Shetland novels, now in its fifth series as a major BBC1 drama, and The Seagull, the eighth Vera Stanhope novel, currently on its ninth ITV series as Vera, starring Brenda Blethyn. A 2018 Radio Times readers’ poll saw both series ranked in the top 10 of the best British crime dramas of all time.
