Chilterns Heritage Festival. Author Talk – Dave Sivers: ‘Chiltern Thrills – Making Crime Pay’.
Dave Sivers, crime fiction author, will take you on his journey from lifelong scribbler to minor bestseller, the seismic changes in the publishing industry in the past ten years and the challenges of setting gritty crime fiction in a pleasant rural area.
He calls his crime fiction novels ‘Chiltern Noir’: his popular series featuring detectives Lizzie Archer and Dan Baines are set in Buckinghamshire’s Aylesbury Vale, and In Ink, published in 2020, introduced DI Nathan Quarrel in the start of a new series set in West Hertfordshire. He is a co-founder of Ivinghoe’s BeaconLit book festival.
Dave was born and raised in West London but has lived in the Chilterns for most of his adult life.
A drink on arrival is included in the price.
Dave Sivers will talk from 7.30 – 8.15 pm with questions, book signings and socialising to follow. There will also be an opportunity for you to buy other drinks after the talk and copies of his books, if you wish to.
The venue, Red Kite Pavillion, opened earlier this year and has been nominated for a 2021 Chiltern Society Design Award.
