Films Preserved and Restored: Friday 10 August to Sunday 12 August 2018

This is a residential weekend course organised by the Cosmopolitan Film Club (non-profit) which is running at Chester University Campus on Films Preserved and Restored (i.e. vintage movies which have been improved by new technology).

Amongst the eight films being shown there are three thrillers; namely The Front Page (USA 1931), Le Jour Se Leve (France 1939) and Woman on the Run (USA 1950). The course commences with refreshments at around 4pm and dinner on Friday, August 10 and finishes about 4pm on Sunday, August 12.

The total cost of the course is £181 which includes two nights’ accommodation in a private room, refreshments and all meals. The course consists of film watching, discussions, short lectures and syndicate film analysis.

Cheques should be made payable to The Cosmopolitan Film Club by no later than Friday, June 22, 2018 and sent to Everett Aaker (Chairman), Cosmopolitan Film Club, 2, Palmerston Close, Chester, CH1 5DA. Any payment received after Friday 22 June 2018 will be returned as the University does not accept individual cheques beyond the final date agreed in the booking contract. (If a person is subsequently unable to attend after payment, we are not in a position to offer refunds, so it would be wise to obtain your own insurance.)

There is also a free prize draw for copies of film and television non-fiction books and some fiction and other non-fiction books.

If you wish to attend please let me know by sending Everett an email by Wednesday, March 28 to cosmopolitan10@btinternet.com.
