Meet Author Charlie Garratt, Creator of Inspector James Given

Telford & Wrekin Libraries is holding a free event on Zoom with Charlie Garratt – author of the Inspector James Given novels. It takes place on Wednesday 17 March at 7pm.

An opportunity to find out more about what inspired Charlie to become an author and to write his Inspector James Given series.

Charlie is Manchester-born but now lives in Shropshire, in the cradle of the Industrial Revolution. He has written four detective novels set in Warwickshire in the 1930s and 40s, with another to be published later this year. He’s also written short stories and a family saga.

When he isn’t writing, Charlie enjoys gardening, playing and listening to music, genealogy, short-mat bowls and, of course, reading crime fiction.

The evening will include an interview with Charlie, a reading from his work, and an opportunity to ask questions. It will last around an hour.
