Peter Tickler: the Tickler’s Jam Murders

Louth Library, Northgate, Louth, LN11 0LY

Peter Tickler mixes crime fiction with family history in The Tickler’s jam Murders. Tickler’s Jam was supplied to the British troops during the first world war. Soldiers sang songs about it. Cartoonists joked about it, and it became a household name.

Peter will talk about how his great-grandfather’s business and the history of the time inspired him to write a country house murder. Gold Dagger winner Peter Lovesey admits, “I was bamboozled! Bravo!”
