The Third February Film Festival – A Festival of Crime – featuring films chosen by actors and authors including Elly Griffiths

Dust off those detective skills and help stave off those winter blues. The Venue in Holt, North Norfolk will be hosting a Festival of Crime, in conjunction with The Holt Bookshop, and supported by The Sir John Hurt Film Trust. The festival will include interviews with authors and actors followed by a showing of a favourite crime film of their choice.
Wednesday 15th February
7.00pm – 8.30pm including interval and Q&A. Actor Roy Marsden will be talking about his role as PD James’s Inspector Adam Dalgleish. FREE with donations.
Friday 17th February
6.00pm Opening and refreshments. A video introduction to ‘The Oxford Murders’ by the director Alex de la Iglesia, followed by recorded interviews with cast members.
7.30pm Film – ‘The Oxford Murders’ staring John Hurt. Chosen by Lady Anwen Hurt. £8.00 including refreshments.
Saturday 18th February
10.00am Film – ‘The Sting’ chosen by the Film Committee. £5.00
2.00pm Film – With a special pre-recorded introduction, ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ (1974) chosen by Norfolk crime writer Elly Griffiths. £5.00
6.00pm Crime writer Jason Dalgliesh will be talking about writing crime novels and signing copies of his latest book, then introducing his film of choice, ‘Get Carter’. £8.00
Sunday 19th February
11.00am Film – ‘The Wrong Trousers’ with a special pre-recorded introduction by Iona Rangley. Free.
2.00pm Film – ’12 Angry Men’ the choice of actor Roy Marsden. £5.00
4.30pm Crime writer David Blake will be talking about writing crime novels and signing copies of his latest book, the introducing his film of choice, ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’. £8.00
