A Brand New Festival … It’d be a Crime to Miss it!

Wild Words Festival is a brand new literary festival in Cuffley, Hertfordshire, taking place over the Jubilee Weekend of 3–5 June 2022. Featuring a host of true crime and crime fiction writers, and with an onsite writing competition, it’s got plenty for crime fans to celebrate.

Heading up Sunday’s programme on the 5 June is Sophie Hannah, talking about her crime career which spans Poirot continuations to murder mystery musicals. She’s also running a masterclass where you can learn how to be a happy and successful writer.

On Saturday the (fatal) attractions include Vaseem Khan, author of the Malabar House series. Khan says he is looking forward to talking about the way he blends fiction and history: ‘The series that I write allows me to talk about the relationship between the British and India during the Raj, and how that changed after 1947. That provides a wonderful context within which to tell you these crime narratives.’

Also appearing are Lara Thompson, who won the Virago/The Pool New Crime Writer Award with One Night, New York, Nadine Matheson who writes the DI Henley series, non-fiction writer Daniel Smith, author of The Peer & the Gangster and Scandal at Dolphin Square, and Adam Simcox, author of the Dying SquadBook now for early bird prices.
