This year, due to coronavirus restrictions, we can’t hold a posh dinner in London where we enjoy a convivial atmosphere, networking with the publishing industry and watching as each Dagger is announced.
However, we can still entertain, and – we confidently expect – to announce the Dagger winners live on a screen very near you! Several CWA members are shortlisted so there’s even more reason to participate.
So please put aside October 22, the original date, at 7.30pm for our virtual event. We expect it to last around 60-90 minutes.
Dressing up for the occasion and providing yourself with a suitable glass (or three) of something is optional.
Richard Osman, author of the just-published and massive-selling The Thursday Murder Club, was originally booked as our guest speaker at the gala dinner. We have asked him to record a video speech for us instead, which will be shown during the online event, and we hope that he will still be able to do that.
The cost of tickets? Nothing. This is the year when everyone can attend. How do you register? We’ll be publicising the link very soon, but for now, just mark this date in you diary.
