‘Yorkshire noir at its finest.’ – Andrew Taylor
Blood Rites is the third in the Detective Inspector Paul Snow series of thrillers set in 1980s Yorkshire. Snow has a personal demon. He is a homosexual but is desperate to keep it secret from his colleagues, knowing that it would finish his career in an intolerant police force. As this personal drama unfolds, he is involved in investigating a series of violent murders in the region. All the victims appear to be chosen at random and apparently have no connection with each other. After the fourth murder, Snow is removed form the case for failing to producer the killer but continues investigating the matter privately. Gradually, Snow determines a sinister and far reaching link between the murder victims, a connection that places his own reputation – and life – in danger. Can Snow unmask the killer while struggling with his personal demons?
