Dixieland
Dixieland is an evocative, absorbing tale of murder, passion and politics, set against the vivid back-drop of 1916 jazz-era New Orleans, accompanied by legendary jazz musicians of the day such as Jelly Roll Morton and Joe ‘King’ Oliver.
Called on to investigate the killing of a U.S. congressman in a notorious high-class Storyville brothel, Detective Eddie Riordan uncovers a trail of conspiracy and murder that leads him into the murky world of the city’s business and political elite, then out into the alligator-infested swamps of southern Louisiana, in a hunt for the killer that puts his own life in jeopardy.
Interwoven with the sounds and colour of Storyville, the prostitutes and pimps, the musicians and music that made the area so unique, Dixieland is a vibrant portrait of human frailty, greed and lust that will keep the reader enthralled from start to finish.
