Brian Price
Works of: Fiction
This police procedural starts when Ellen Wilkins brings her husband’s head into Mexton police station. It was left on her doorstep by ruthless gang in an attempt to extract information from her concerning missing items, about which she knows nothing.
DC Mel Cotton and her team investigate and uncover a network of criminals illegally importing drugs and other valuable contraband. As the team gets closer, attempts are made to murder or frame its members and Mel Cotton is kidnapped and delivered into the hands of a notorious torturer.
In a converging thread, a former sex worker infiltrates the gang in order to wreak revenge on the man who trafficked her when she was a child.
The novel concludes with a shootout in a woodland cabin involving Mel, her colleague and a corrupt police officer.
A sequel is in preparation.
