Her Little Secret

Works of: Fiction, Audiobook
Cristina knows all about boundaries. As a therapist, it is vital that she keeps her clients at a professional distance.
Enter new client Leon: charming, affluent — and newly bereaved, following the death of his married lover, Michelle, in a car accident. He confesses that he’s chosen Cristina as his therapist because of her links to Michelle, who had been her client in the past. But Cristina has only vague memories of the woman and professional ethics would stop her from her from discussion anyway.
Cristina commits to guiding Leon through his grief, and struggles to ignore her own growing attraction to this vulnerable, good-looking man. But up against sophisticated, attentive Leon, her boundaries blur and then collapse, and the two set out on their own clandestine love affair.
Once part of her life, Leon becomes increasingly possessive, and starts to switch between charm and criticism, warmth and distance. He compares Cristina unfavourably to Michelle. Tortured by jealousy and guilt, Cristina starts to wonder whether Leon’s dead lover really was as perfect as he claims. Can Cristina break her final professional boundary by reading Michelle’s closed therapy file? What secrets are hidden there, and what is it that Leon really wants from her?
