A barrister gets too close to a murderous ex-client, with devastating repercussions.
INDEFENSIBLE is a legal thriller set in London during the mid-1990s.
Daniel is a forty-year-old barrister, who becomes too close to a client he defends in a murder trial at the Old Bailey. Daniel quickly finds his personal and professional lives becoming dangerously enmeshed.
The story begins with the discovery of a man’s head floating in the River Thames. Daniel is instructed in the resulting murder case at the Old Bailey, and successfully defends his client, Rod. But when Daniel becomes suspicious that his second wife Michaela is having an affair, he asks Rod to follow her to a hotel in Winchester and things start sliding inexorably out of control.
Indefensible has the ring of authenticity and a good deal to say about ethics within our society. The novel could only have been written by somebody with specialist legal knowledge. It features several senior figures from the legal world who are included in the book with their express permission.
