The Beach Party Mystery
Peter Bartram
Works of: Fiction
The radio station that’s not what it seems
A conspiracy years in the making
The reporter who stumbles on the truth
Brighton is about to host a beach party – with the world’s biggest name in rock music headlining the show. It’s a world away from the work of Evening Chronicle crime reporter Colin Crampton. But that’s before fraudster Claude Winterbottom is beaten to death.
As Colin, and his feisty Australian girlfriend Shirley Goldsmith, investigate, they find there are too many suspects. Like the world’s fattest loan shark Manfred Crouchpenny… hypocritical purity campaigner Jeremiah Puttock… and a mystery woman who hides behind the pseudonym Astraea. The climax explodes on a pirate radio ship moored off the British coast. The laughs are never far from the action when Colin and Shirley face dangers they never anticipated as they race to crack the case.
“Funny and smart… a superbly entertaining read.” – Tales Before Bedtime
