Merryn Allingham
I was born into an army family and spent my childhood on the move. Unsurprisingly it gave me itchy feet and in my twenties I escaped an unloved secretarial career to work as cabin crew and see the world. I still love to visit new places, especially those with an interesting history, but the arrival of marriage, children and cats has meant a more settled life in the south of England. Previously I’ve written historical mysteries, sometimes set in exotic locations and often against a background of stirring world events.
Now, though, I’ve committed myself to crime with a capital C. The Tremayne Mysteries Series features Nancy, a feisty 1950s heroine, who turns amateur sleuth and enjoys/endures adventures around the world. While the Flora Steele mysteries – Flora is a bookshop owner and her fellow sleuth, a crime writer – is a cosy crime series set in 1950s Sussex.
