Math Bird is a British novelist and short story writer. He was born and grew up along the borderlands of North East Wales. Widely traveled, he’s had a variety of jobs from factory worker, builder’s laborer, IT Trainer, Project Manager, Consultant, University lecturer, Copywriter, Editor, whilst still finding time to complete a Masters and a PhD.

Often described as poetic and poignant, with a considered simplicity, Math Bird’s writing isn’t easily pigeonholed, and his crime thriller novels and stories easily sit alongside many of today’s contemporary fiction.

He’s interested in telling great stories whilst exploring literary themes of class, belonging and place, social and geographical borders. His work has aired on BBC Radio 4, Radio Wales, and Radio 4 Extra.

His forthcoming novellas Witches Copse and Hidden Grace will be published between 2021 and 2022.
