Sheila is an Irish crime writer living in Eastbourne. She has published six crime novels to date. Her first three novels, featuring police detective Ellen Kelly, are all based in south east London. Since then, she has written three novels, all set in Eastbourne, featuring investigative journalist Dee Doran.

The crime novelist, Ken Bruen, described her first novel as ‘a tour de force’, comparing Sheila’s writing to AM Homes and Anne Tyler. The influential crime fiction website, Crimesquad has described her writing as ‘a big hit of narcotics, but in paper form.’

When not writing fiction, Sheila runs creative writing courses, offers a range of editing services and is a creative writing tutor for the Writers Bureau. She is a regular contributor to writing magazines and reviews crime fiction for She also has a regular slot on BBC Radio Sussex.
