Stephen Collier
Stephen. Collier is the author of three crime fiction novels, based in and around his home county of Northamptonshire. An area of the UK which seems to have been neglected by crime fiction.
Stephen served thirty years as a police officer in Northamptonshire, predominantly as a Traffic Officer (or Roads Policing, as they now call it). Therefore, his novels, unlike most, have a predominant lean towards traffic policing. His debut novel, ‘Blind Murder,’ features as its main protagonist traffic cop sergeant Jake Jordan.
He did not start writing seriously until he retired from the police in 2005, setting up his own training and development consultancy, taking him all over the world. The inspiration for his third novel ‘Crimson Dragon,’ came from his company working with the Hong Kong Police Force for an extended period.
Meanwhile, he found time to study and was awarded an MA in Creative Writing (Crime Fiction) from the University of East Anglia in 2017.
He is currently working on a screenplay for his first book. He has also written the foreword to a novel written by Ruth Martin, his aunt, who passed away some years ago. The book ‘Let the Grass Grow Green,’ is not specifically crime fiction, more romantic mystery, if there is such a sub- genre. Oh, and he’s also getting into writing his third book in the Jake Jordan series.
Stephen also runs ‘Coppers Coach,’ a support service for authors writing police procedurals.
