Jim Eldridge
Jim Eldridge has been a professional writer since 1971 when his first crime novel “Down Payment on Death” was published, and he sold his first sitcom to BBC radio (“Parsley Sidings” starring Arthur Lowe.) Since then he had had 250 BBC radio scripts broadcast, 250 TV scripts broadcast in the UK and internationally, 100 children’s books published, and (since 2016) 6 historical crime fiction novels published. He is now concentrating on crime fiction.
Other Awards
Jim’s awards relate to his scriptwriting days: a Royal Television Society Award for Best Children’s Drama series for “Bad Boyes” (co-written with his son, Duncan Eldridge); a shared Writers Guild Award for best comedy series for Ronnie Barker’s “Lines From My Grandfather’s Forehead”. He was also shortlisted for the Golden Rose at Montreux for one of his episodes for the RTE sitcom “Upwardly Mobile”.
