Barry Forshaw is one of the UK’s leading experts on crime fiction and film. Books include Crime Fiction: A Reader’s Guide, the Keating Award-winning Brit Noir (plus Nordic, American, Euro and Historical Noir), and Sex and Film. Other work: Death in a Cold Climate, British Gothic Cinema, British Crime Writing: An Encyclopedia (also a Keating Award winner) and Italian Cinema. He writes for various newspapers and DVD booklets, edits Crime Time (www.crimetime.co.uk), and is a regular broadcaster, panellist and panel chair. He has been Vice Chair of the Crime Writers’ Association, and emcees the Dagger Awards presentations.
